
Herpes Zoster (Shingles)
Herpes zoster, colloquially known as shingles, is the reactivation of
varicella zoster virus (VZV, primary infection of which leads to
chickenpox), one of the Herpesviridae group, leading to a crop of painful
blisters over the area of a dermatome.
